Building a DIY Farmhouse Bed Frame
I built the Ana White Modern Farmhouse Bed Frame and here's how I came out and what I would have done different.
I recently built a DIY farmhouse bed frame, I followed the wonderful tutorial from Ana White DIY.
Final Cost
All told I spent about $220.00 on this project for lumber and wood stain. I built this in April of 2021 when lumber prices are sky high so I keep that in mind when budgeting your own bed frame.
Changes
If I could remake this project I would change two things,
-
I would add one additional slat to the headboard, I have an all foam mattress with no box spring - a pillow will occasionally fall between the mattress and the headboard. One additional slat would have solved this.
-
I would have gone with a different color of stain. I used a Varathane Weathered Wood Accelerator stain to give the project a weathered barnwood style. But they sell it in two colors, a brown and a more grayish color. I think I would have like the brown a little bit more.
Conclusion
Other than the two small tweaks I would have made this project came out great and me and my wife are so happy with it!
